Good Trouble is excited to announce AbleToPlay – a revolutionary accessibility-first games discovery platform. With the worlds-first Personalized Score system, AbleToPlay empowers gamers with disabilities and their families to instantly find games that fit their accessibility needs. With support from Child’s Play Charity, Games For Change, and the World Institute on Disability, and award winning game developers, AbleToPlay is pioneering innovative ways to find new favorite games no matter your needs or abilities.
We’re building AbleToPlay to solve this massive problem affecting over 500 million gamers globally. We’ve pioneered Personalized Scoring as an all-new way to discover accessible games, so gamers can see exactly how well games fit what they’re searching for. What used to take hours of effort now takes seconds.

For us, everything ultimately comes down to whether or not AbleToPlay actually helps gamers with disabilities and their families find new favorite games to fall in love with. When we first started building, we were a mix of anxious and excited for the size of the problem we’re solving. As users started trying it out, we realized what a powerful and helpful platform we’ve built. The impactful stories and heartfelt messages started adding up, so now we proudly have an entire section on our homepage of quotes from our users, for whom AbleToPlay was the missing piece in being empowered to find and play games with full confidence.
Personalized Scores on AbleToPlay are so much more than a basic generalized accessibility score or number. We provide a full, in-depth breakdown of every single accessibility-relevant feature and game design decision for every game on the platform, stringent benchmarks that identify outstanding or lacking support, as well as whether the user needs it or prefers it. This is all built atop the world's most robust dataset on games accessibility, which we researched from scratch over the course of an entire year. Best of all the entire experience is accessible, easy to use, and is totally private.
Simply put, no other platform or solution provides better, more personal, or more actionable insights into games accessibility.
The last few years have been incredibly painful for the games industry, and game discovery is both the hardest problem to solve AND is the most impactful to a studio’s ability to keep the lights on. So we’re building new ways for developers and publishers to get their games discovered based on fair merits – the design decisions and accessibility features the games objectively have – as well as providing them with next-gen tools to spot opportunities, learn from genre-specific accessibility guidelines, and get ROI data on specific accessibility features.
Our vision is to be the absolute best way to discover games that fit your needs and preferences no matter who you are, and the year ahead we have planned is nothing short of monumental. For gamers, we've our roadmap includes adding tens of thousands more games to the platform, introducing new feedback tools to share ideas and bugs with developers, and all-new ways to find the perfect games (and teammates!) that fit your needs and preferences. Developers and publishers should get excited too, because we're building the best tools to help build, launch, and grow games with great accessibility, as well as never-before-seen tools to see the ROI of accessibility.
For those who want to check it out immediately, join our Discord to grab an access code ahead of our full launch on March 10th.
